THE ARMY OF GOD

The word army according to dictionary means a large organized body of armed personnel trained for war especially on land it also means a body of persons organized  to advance a cause. It also means, a unit capable of independent action and consisting usually of a headquarters, two or more corps and auxiliary troops. It can also mean, a complete military organization of a nation for land warfare. As a worker, they are expected to go on vacation. Which means the main function of an army is to fight for the protection of the country.

If you are a christian, you are among the army of Christ because everyday, you are expected to fight either with the satan or with the worldly things which you are expected to abandon because you are no more whom you use to be. You have to take your cross everyday and follow Christ. You are a transformed person whom is not expected to remain how you were before you accepted Christ as your Lord and personal savior. As an army of God, you are not expected to go on vacation in prayer that is why it is written, ”pray without ceasing” – 1 Thesalonians 5 : 17. ”Rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer” – Roman 12 : 12. ”Continue in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving” – Colossians 4 : 2.

As an army of Christ we should practice absolute obedience. ”You are My friends if you do whatever I command you. No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing, but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you. You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you” – John 15 : 14 – 16.

As an army of Christ, we are expected to have the faith of God in our heart and with God’s faith, we can pursue santification, holiness and purity. God want us to fight the good fight of faith. We should be forceful soldiers that does not get tired no matter how long you have been fighting. You are fortunate to be among the workers in the vineyard of Christ therefore you are special. Be confident and continue to push forward because you are not alone.

Father, You are worthy to be praise. Help us to fulfill that which You have called us for in the name of Jesus Christ.
