Promise is a commitment by someone to do or not to do something.

Most times we promise God that we will serve Him no matter the circumstances we are facing, no matter the trials that comes our way. You see, it is very easy to promise anything when one is facing trials but the question is that after the trials, do we normally remember our promises to God without giving excuses? Absolutely no, why because when a wound is healed the pains will not be remembered again and we always forget that our promises was not to man but rather to the Almighty Himself.

To some people, when they are need of something from God, it is that time they will be frequent in church and try to participate in almost all the activities in church. After getting what he was in need of, you will not see him in church anymore. It is then you will hear him say things like, my work is becoming stressful for me, I always take my children to one place or the other, we have board meeting almost everyday, I close very late from work or one of our relatives has come to visit. I believe it is better to always fulfill our promise or vow no matter how hard it might be.

We feel that when we vow to Him, it will multivate Him to come for our rescue. He knows our heart no matter how we try to be innocent. We can always tell a man that, I like you when we have another thing in our mind but to God when we do such, we are only deceiving ourselves and not God because He knows what we have in mind. If He has come to your rescue in one way or the other, it is not because of what you have done to convince him that you love Him but rather because of His love and grace upon our lives.

Better not to vow than to vow and not pay – Ecclesiastes 5 : 5.

He is waiting to receive you today if you have made any promise to Him because whether you go to church or not remember that such promise is binding and always new. He want to always have a relationship with you so go close to Him. He want to see You come back like a prodigal child. Never delay your going back anymore.

Thank You Lord, for all Your promises that You always fulfill because You are always faithful to Your promises. Help us Lord, to be faithful to You no matter the situation that is surrounding us in the name of Jesus Christ.
