quotes about love

Today is valentine’s day and many of people are very busy sending love messages. It is not bad but the question I will keep on asking is that, the way love is being expressed today is it not suppose to be like that everyday? Are we supposed to show our love one day more than the rest days throughout the year? I don’t think there is anywhere God said we should show our love more especially on one particular day. Let’s see some bible verses about love so that we can really see how we should love if it is only one day or every time.

My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth – 1 John 3 : 18.

He who does not love does not know God – 1 John 4 : 8.

And above all things have fervent love for one another, for love will cover a multitude of sins. Be hospitable to one another without grumbling – 1 Peter 4 : 8 – 9.

Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her – Ephesians 5 : 25.

Nevertheless let each one of you in particular so love his own wife as himself and let the wife see that she respects her husband – Ephesians 5 : 35.

Love suffers long and is kind. Love does not envy, love does not parade itself, is not puffed up, does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil, does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth. Bears all things, believes all things, hope all things, endures all things. Love never fail – 1 Corinthians 13 : 4 – 8a.

A friend loves at all times and a brother is born for adversity – Proverbs 17 : 17.

So Jacob served seven years for Rachel and they seemed only a few days to him because of the love he had for her – Genesis 29 . 20.

If the way we express love today it is like that every day, there will be no room for hatred, there will be no war, there will be less  divorce or no divorce, there will be no killing between spouse, there will be no separation. Let’s love as Jesus Christ love even to the extent of showing love to those that were crucifying Him. The love of Christ does not have any special day which we have to show it more but rather everyday.
