When virgins were gathered together a second time, Mondecai sat within the king’s gate. Now Esther had not revealed her family and her people, just as Mondecai had charged her, for Esther obeyed the command of Mondecai as when she was brought up by him. In those days, while Mondecai sat within the king’s gate, two of the king’s eunuchs, Bigthm and Teresh, doorkeepers, became furious and sought to lay hands on king Ahasuerus. So the matter became known to Mondecai, who told Queen Esther and Esther informed the king in Mondecai’s name. And when inquiry was made into the matter, it was confirmed and both were hanged on a gallows and it was written in the book of the chronicles in the presence of the king – Esther 2 : 19 – 23.
The virgins has to gather together again for the second time and this time, the king was joyful because he has found a Queen and during this time some of the inner circle members whom the king confided on were having another plan despite the fact that it was a time of joy not only to the king and his chiefs but to the entire community I think.
We have to be very careful during the time of festivities because it is during this time the enemy normally lay siege against their victims. It is a time nobody will expect anyone to have such negative plan, it is a time the security becomes more vulnerable, it is a time everybody becomes very busy with eating and drinking and this suppose to be the time the security has to be more alert.
This is what is happening to most christian today. When there is a little festivity, we take it to be the time of relaxation instead of being on a high spiritual alert. This is the time most christian pray less thinking that the devil is also feasting. Brethren, there is no time the devil is relax, it is always on duty because its aim is to rub, kill and destroy. It doesn’t have any good plan for the children of God.
There is another issue here, we trust easily. Who were the enemies that wanted to take the king’s life despite the fact that their reasons or motives was not disclosed. Many has lost their lives because of what I will call ”easy trust”. Don’t misunderstand me, it is good to trust but with caution and taking the issue to God who knows the secret of everything and He is ever ready to reveal it to His children. At times we lay our trust on the security personnel instead of trusting God for every security we need.
Mondecai sat not looking for people’s error but God knows how to use His children to fulfill His plan for us. Any action of kindness we show, God will always use it to bring His blessing to us sooner or later if we do it with all joy not because of what we want to benefit from the other person. When the issue was reported to the king, an investigation was made into the matter, it was found that Mondecai was not lying. At times, we will do some certain things, say some things but we do not know why we did it or say it. Mondecai charged Esther not to reveal her people to the king. If Esther has disclosed her people to the king and such issue as Mondecai has reported came up, people might think that Mondecai is trying to look for favor before the king but since no one knew whom Mondecai was, the issue took another shape.
The people that were involved were hanged and Mondecai’s name was written in the book of record. What have you done that has made your name to be written in the record book of God? Most times, we pray that God should open His book of record or remembrance for us but unknowingly to us that if we have not done anything that will make our name to have been written in that book, no matter how we pray about it His answer might not be as we expect it because there is a lay down principles which we need to follow that will attract His attention. The book of remembrance can be for blessing and it can also be for curse, which one is your name written?
Father Lord, help us to be obedient to Your instructions so that our names will be written in Your book of remembrance of blessing in the name of Jesus Christ.
