JACOB WRESTLE WITH GOD

  Then Jacob was left alone and a man wrestled with him until the breaking of day. Now when He saw that He did not prevail against him, He touched the socket of his hip and the socket of Jacob’s hip was out of joint as He wrestled with him. And He said, let Me go, for the day breaks. But he said, I will not let You go unless You bless me. So He said to him, what is your name? He said, Jacob. And He said, your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel for you have struggled with God and with men and have prevailed. Then Jacob asked, saying, tell me your name, I pray. And He said, why is it that you ask about My name? And He blessed him there. So Jacob called the name of the place Peniel. For I have seen God face to face and my life is preserved – Genesis 32 : 24 – 30.

Anytime God visit or He touches someone, something(s) must surely change in the life of the person physically and  spiritually. It might include a change of name, a change of friends, it might include going out in the midst of your love ones, it might be abandoning things because the person is no more in control of himself but rather the Holy Spirit is now in control of the person. There is bound to be a complete change in the person. He no longer sees things the same way he use to see things, his thinking will change, the way he speaks will change, he continues to love without limit, he continues to see things in a different way because the person has been tested and he passed the test.

If Jacob has given up before the day breaks, he would have missed his purpose in life. Even when he did not have more strength left, even when he could not know the purpose of the fight, even when he did not know the prize, even when he did not know when the fight is going to end but he persisted and persevered till the end and he received the victory because God has placed the victorious power in him and that same power is in you.

What are you wrestling with today? What are the things that you have been battling with in life? Is it sickness, hatred, anger, unbelief, doubt, drug, drunkeness, fornication, pornography, fear, disobedience, miscarriages, child bearing, marriage, spouse, finance, business, studies, career, family, relationship? Don’t loose hope, don’t loose courage, don’t loose strength, don’t give up. Believe that you are on a test and after the test, victory is sure no matter how long you have been struggling with that situation. If you know how close you are to your destiny or breakthrough, you will not like to quit so don’t quit because you are very close to your breakthrough.

God has placed in you the power to pass every test that come your way so don’t destroy yourself by judging yourself of your past mistakes because God is not ready to judge you with your past or powerlessness but rather He love and care about you and He is ready to give you the strength you need to fulfill the purpose He created you for. And remember that you are  His precious creature and a winner in all area of your life.

Father Lord, I thank You for Your love and endurance towards us despite our unbelief, doubt, disobedience and greed. Help us to know Your purpose for our lives so that we cannot waist our time in a wrong way because Your time is too precious for us. Help us not to take our eyes off  from You Lord. Help us in our weaknesses in Jesus name.
