Now when Jesus had crossed over again by boat to the other side, a great multitude gathered to Him and He was by the sea. And behold one of the rulers of the synagogue came, Jairus by name. Ad when he saw Him, he fell t His feet and begged Him earnestly saying, my little daughter lies at the point of death. Come and lay Your hands on her, that she may be healed and she will lie. So Jesus went with him and a great multitude followed Hm ad thronged Him – Mark 5 : 21 – 24.

Jesus agreed to go and heal Jairus’ daughter after pleading with Him despite His lack of time because He says that He came to serve and not to be served. Jairus came to Jesus because his position could not be used to heal his daughter. There are things position, money and influence cannot buy which knowing God, we receive freely from Him because of His love for mankind. If Jairus could use his position to heal his daughter, he would not have come to Jesus.

While He was still speaking, some came from the ruler of the synagogue’s house who said, your daughter is dead. Why trouble the Teacher any further? As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, He said to the ruler of the synagogue, do not be afraid only believe. And He permitted no one to follow Him except Peter, James and John the brother of James – Mark 5 : 35 – 37.

When Jairus heard about the death of his daughter, he might felt that all hope is lost but Jesus reminded him that when life comes death will be forced to leave the environment. Darkness cannot overcome light. Jesus selected those that will not bring doubt to His work. He took those that knew Him very well. There are some of our friends whom we think that they are going to the same place with us but they are not. Doubt will always bring about failure in miracle. The doubt might not be outspoken for us to hear. The blessing or gift God has placed in you, is not in another person because our God is not a God of duplicate.

Then He came to the house of the ruler of the synagogue and saw a tumult and those who wept and wailed loudly. When He came in, He said to them why make this commotion and weep? The child is not dead, but sleeping. And they ridiculed Him. But when He had put them all outside, He took  the father and the mother of the child and those who were with Him and entered where the child was lying. Then He took the child by the hand and said to her, Talitha, cumi, which is translated, little girl, I say to you, arise. Immediately the girl arose and walked, for she was twelve years of age. And they were overcome with great amazement. But He commanded them strictly that no one should know it and said that something should be given her to eat – Mark 5 : 38- 43.

Despite the fact that her healing was delayed, but when it gets to the right time, nothing could stop the girl from getting up from dead. Undermining how long she has been dead, undermining the words of those that were present because the father believe what Jesus told him, he was able to receive his miracle. Brethren, we should not allow what people say about us to rob us of our blessing. Our destiny is not in the hand of man but rather it is in the hand of God.

Father, help us to always remain in You no matter the situation we find ourselves so that we cannot miss our blessing in Jesus name.
