A king who did not believe in the goodness of God, had a slave who in all circumstances said my king, do not be discouraged, because everything God does is perfect, no mistakes. One day, they went hunting and along the way wild animal attacked the king. His slave managed to kill the animal, but could not prevent his majesty from losing a finger. Furious and without showing his gratitude for being saved, the nobleman said ”Is God good? If He was good, i would not have been attacked and lost my finger”. The slave replied ” my king, despite all these things, i can only tell you that God is good, and He knows why all these things happened. What God does is perfect. He is never wrong. Outraged by the response, the king ordered the arrest of his slave.
Later, he left for another hunt and was captured by savages who made human sacrifices. In the altar, ready to sacrifice the nobleman, the savages found that the victim had not one of his fingers, so he was released. According to them, it was not so complete to be offered to the gods.
Upon his return to the palace, he authorized the release of his slave that he now received him affectionately. My dear, God was really good to me. I was almost killed by the wild men, but for lack of a single finger, i was let go. But i have a question; if God is so good, why did He allow me to put you in jail? My king, if i had gone with you in this hunt, i would have been sacrificed for you, because i have no missing finger, therefore, remember everything God does is perfect. He is never wrong.
Often we complain about life and negative things that happen to us, forgetting that nothing is random and that everything has a purpose. Every morning, offer your day to God, don’t be in a rush. Ask God to inspire your thoughts, guide your actions and ease your feelings. Do not be afraid. God is never wrong my brethen.
Let us go close to God because when you stay and work with somebody with time, you will begin to do things like him. The scripture says ”we should be perfect as He is perfect”. Perfection will come from Him by going close to Him. God can use any means to protect us from any danger. The bible says in psalm 91 : 12 that ” for He shall give His angels charge over you. To keep you in all your ways. In their hands they shall bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone”. His angels are guiding us both day and night so that we cannot miss the way.

Henry, thank you for this encouraging story. God is good and we need to learn to trust Him like a child even when we don’t understand why, and when it doesn’t make sense to us. I pray God helps us to yield more to His Spirit than our human reasoning so that we can know His peace, especially in this trouble times our world is in. God bless you!

Yes, it has always perplexed me why people fear death so much if they believe Christ to be their savior. This world hold far worse things than death and if you are going to paradise then why would you consider this the ultimate bad thing that could happen to you? People are too consumed with keeping their lives but pay no heed to what will happen to their souls. We are upon this earth but a blink of an eye so we should be more concerned how we will spend eternity. Great Post Henry! Blessings upon you.

You very right Tina. People are afraid to die because they are yet to know the reality of where Jesus Christ said He was going to prepare for us in John 14 : 2. And moreover, they are not sure if they had laid their treasure yet in heaven. I have seen many people who will say that they want to die and any small noise, they will be afraid. Not that I want them dead but the way they say it, it is like they don’t know the meaning of death. As christians, we are not suppose to be afraid of death. I pray that God should give us more understanding of His kingdom. Blessings to you as well and I appreciate your insight.

Many cling to this world as if it were heaven but I yearn for paradise and have since childhood. I have lived 40 years with rheumatoid arthritis and if that were the only burden I needed to carry it would be enough but I have many. I have a unique perspective as I have no reason to cling to this world. I strive to get the task accomplished the Lord has created me for but I do long for the day when I am released from this very broken body. It is a blessing though because I have no choice but to lean heavily upon my heavenly Father for everything. My faith has grown strong throughout my life as Satan continues his attacks. I do understand why some cling to life or lifestyles because they trust too much in their own power to provide for themselves. I do not have such illusions and never have. This life, for many, is not something to which one would ever cling.

I really thank God for the strength you have despite your circumstances. One thing I want you to always say, I am not ordering you but encouraging you, is that you are complete in Christ Jesus no matter the condition of your body, God is still ever ready to use you. He has a purpose for you as you said which no one else will fulfill but except you. What you have to do is hold on to that purpose and never allow any opportunity He give you to fulfill it pass you by. You see, people are so cling to this world as if they are going to stay here forever. The earlier they start knowing the truth the better it is. Thanks and many hugs your way my friend 🙂

I am a woman of great strength who does not know how not to fight against the evil in this world. I will be 44 years old in October and each and every single year has been a struggle. I will never give up, for I know my purpose here and will work to my final breath to fulfill it regardless of my circumstances. I have my bad days but I will never give up. There are many who are lost and need to be taken gently by the hand and guided toward the Father who will hide them under his loving wings. He has put each of here for a specific task; therefore, if we refuse it then how many will be lost due to our disobedience. No worries, my friend circumstances never dictate my faith or resolve.
